Have a question that isn't answered here? Reach out and we'll get back to you quickly.

Your first visit is a 60-minute one-on-one evaluation. Dr. Thornton will review your health history, assess your movement patterns, and identify any physical restrictions. For sport-specific evaluations, this includes video analysis of your mechanics. You'll leave with a clear understanding of your issues and a personalized Plan of Care.
In Florida, you can receive physical therapy without a physician referral for the first 30 days of treatment. After that, a referral may be required depending on your insurance. We recommend checking with your insurance provider, and we're happy to help clarify any questions.
We specialize in sports-related injuries and performance for golfers, tennis players, and pickleball players, as well as TMJ/jaw pain. We also offer dry needling and performance strength training. If you're unsure whether we're the right fit for your condition, feel free to reach out — we're happy to discuss.
We are an out-of-network provider. We will provide you with a superbill after each session that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. We accept HSA/FSA cards, cash, check, and major credit cards.
All sessions — evaluations and follow-up treatments — are 60 minutes of dedicated one-on-one time with Dr. Thornton. We don't double-book or use aides, so you receive undivided attention for your entire appointment.
The number of sessions varies by individual and condition. After your evaluation, Dr. Thornton will create a personalized Plan of Care and give you a realistic timeline. Most patients see meaningful improvement within a few sessions.
Dry needling is a physical therapy technique that uses thin, sterile needles to release tight muscle bands and trigger points — reducing pain and improving mobility. While both use needles, dry needling is based on Western anatomy and neuromuscular science, targeting specific musculoskeletal dysfunctions, whereas acupuncture is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine.
We are located at 7640 South Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231. We see patients Monday and Wednesday 9am–4pm, and Saturday by appointment.
